CERAMICS STUDIO MEMBERSHIP
Alchemy is accepting new Membership applications!
Whether you are an experienced ceramicist or just interested in learning, membership to the ceramics studio is for you! As a Member, you can schedule up to 3 hours per day in the studio, either alone or with up to two others using our online scheduler. Need instruction? Now you can also book private lessons with Glenn for yourself or with a buddy! It's never been a better time to learn pottery at Alchemy, and we can't wait to get you started in the studio.
Members must adhere to distancing and sanitizing guidelines, as well as mask-wearing if others are present. We are also expanding our memberships to include contactless options, utilizing the kiosk in the lower parking lot.
Ceramics Studio Facilities
Our ceramics studio is equipped with a slab roller, 6 electric wheels, one outdoor kickwheel, a clay mixer, hand tools, slab molds, studio glazes, a pug mill, and two electric kilns. We fire glazeware in a cone 6 oxidation firing, using an L&L kiln generously donated by Thrinley DiMarco.
A variety of clays are available to purchase from our store at $25/15lb bag.
Ceramics studio members have access to the space from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM each day during open studio times, except during certain class times. Studio glaze is included in Membership, and firing is done by Alchemy technicians.

Clay
Clay is available for purchase on-site, for $25/bag. You can check out the clays we have available in our store. Other clays may be brought into the studio, but must be cone-6 clays. There is a $15 fee per bag of non-studio clay.
Tutoring
Are you new to clay,or want to step up your game? Alchemy now offers tutoring sessions with for one or two members at a time at $25/hour, or $35 for two people. Just email Glenn@alchemyartcenter.com to schedule!
Childcare
Childcare is now available for members of Alchemy! Work in the studio while your child spends time making crafts, playing, or exploring with an in-house caretaker. This service is available for $25/hour for one child, or $35 for two children.

Ceramics Studio Member Types/Rates:
- In-Person Membership to the Ceramics Studio (with personal storage shelf) $95 per calendar month, beginning on the 1st of each month. This is our most complete membership plan, for folks who want to store their clay and personal supplies/work in studio.
- Remote Membership (studio access, no storage) $75 per calendar month
- Remote Members have full access to workspace and supplies in the studio, but do not have their own storage shelf. This is a great deal for folks who don't mind bringing their supplies and clay with them when they come in to work. Community shelves are available for work in progress, but not for long-term storage.
- Contactless Ceramics Studio $95 per calendar month
- Contactless Members work entirely from home and utilize our kiosk for contactless pick-up and drop-off. They are contacted when their fired work is ready to be picked up.
- Buddy Membership $85 per calendar month, per person. This is the same as the in-person membership, but with a shared shelf. This deal can also apply to Contactless Memberships if work is dropped off and picked up together in the same box.
- Parent/Child Memberships $85 per month per person. Alchemy offers parent/child memberships under the same pricing as the Buddy System. Please be aware that Alchemy is primarily an adult art workspace, and parents are fully responsible for their children and maintaining a clean and conducive work environment for others while at Alchemy. If you are interested in becoming a member with your child, please let us know in the comments section of the Membership inquiry form below.

Beginner Packages
For folks who are new to clay, we now offer beginner packages!
Beginner packages combine one month of Membership (any level), and 4.5 hours of tutoring time designed for the total beginner, plus a free 30 minute studio overview before the first session.
The tutoring schedule is broken down into three sessions, as follows:

- First Session, 2.5 hours:
- Hand-building basics (slab, coil, attaching), wheel-throwing basics.
- Second Session, 1 hour:
- Trimming on the wheel, sgraffito/underglaze
- Third Session, 1 hour:
- Glazing

If you are interested in becoming a Ceramics Studio Member, please use the form below to get in contact with the Membership manager. Membership begins on the first of each month, so it’s best to be in touch at least a week prior to the month in which you would like to join.
After we receive your form, we will follow up with more information and schedule a walkthrough of the space. Because the number of Studio Members we are able to accommodate is limited, we cannot guarantee that all applicants will receive immediate membership.
