Watercolor Monotypes: Landscapes

Taught by Nikki Barber, Visiting Artist

Saturday and Sunday, July 20-21

$175, includes all materials

The perfect print technique for watercolor painters, or anyone interested in versatility and color! You’ll work with a professional printmaker to make specialized singular prints, called “monotypes” using non toxic watercolor. You’ll use all kinds of tools to push, pull, lift, spray, and manipulate watercolor on acrylic plates and transparencies. You can create images as simple as a basic shape or as complicated as a portrait or cityscape. You’ll get practice using the press to transfer the watercolor on paper and a demo on how to hand print at home.

With Monotype printmaking, you can use a variety of materials to create unique images that can be fun surprises or carefully constructed prints- up to you! No experience necessary, and absolutely no need to “be good at drawing”.

NIKKI BARBER is a Seattle-based printmaker, teaching artist, and instructor. She has shown her work extensively nationally and internationally, and is well-versed in a variety of techniques.
