Digital Darkroom Photography

Taught by visiting artist Sara Condo

Saturday and Sunday, July 27th and 28th

$175, all materials included

Print your digital photos in the darkroom!

In this class, students will transform an image taken with a digital camera or phone into a real black and white photo print or cyanotype using actual darkroom techniques. Visiting artist Sara Condo will instruct students in essential photography concepts including aperture, shutter speed, composition, and lighting, as well as provide historical and conceptual context.

Students will have a chance to take photos on the first day of class using their own digital device, and will learn how to turn their files into a digital transparency. On the second day of class, students will use their transparencies to create photo darkroom prints as well as cyanotypes.

Each student will take home a digital transparency, a unique photo print, and a cyanotype of their original image!
