PRIVATE CLASSES and PARTIES
Private Classes and Tutorials
Private classes are available to schedule in ceramics, print, and photo, for adults and kids. Private classes are 2-3 hours long depending on the topic, and must be scheduled at least 1 week in advance. We may be able to schedule a last minute class for you or your group, please call us for short term availability.
Visitor Rates: $95 for one person plus $85 for each additional person.
Local Non-Member Rates: $70 for one person plus $55 for each additional person. Included: One Wednesday 3 weeks after class during open studio (5:00-7:00 PM) in which you may come in and finish your work (ceramics only).
Shipping: $20 per person for shipping ceramics work (5”x11”x11” box)Member Tutorials: Private tutorials can be scheduled by monthly studio members of Alchemy for $25/hour per person. To learn more about studio membership, click HERE. Excludes punch-card members.
Topics for private classes include: wheel throwing, hand building, glazing and surface design techniques, raku, screenprinting, monoprinting, relief printing, cyanotypes, natural dye, darkroom photography, photography in the field, and more.

Paint Your Own Hand-Thrown Pottery
This is not your average paint your own pottery class. Students will have an assortment of hand thrown vessels and mugs to choose from and will be shown techniques in glaze and underglaze. Pottery can be picked up 24 hours after the class, or can be shipped for an additional fee, once fired.
2-hour class, must be scheduled 2 weeks in advance
$55 per person, minimum 6 people (fewer attendees is fine, but minimum price is $330 based on 6 people. Maximum 12 people.
Includes one bisque mug per person. Additional mugs can be added for $20 each.
Shipping is an additional $30 per person, or next day pick up is free.
Ceramics Handbuilding
Students will be given clay, tools, and techniques to create their vision in clay! Possibilities include using slabs to create plates, bowls, or decorative address plaques, using coils and pinching to create functional pottery or decorative sculpture… and so much more!

Students can glaze their work after it has been bisque fired, during one of our Wednesday open studios (5pm-7pm). This option is included in the $55 base price.
Glazing by Alchemy staff and shipping is an additional $30 per person, or next day pick up is free.
Design and Silkscreen Apparel
Create a t-shirt design with your group! We will coach you so that everyone can add a little something, then your group’s original design will be turned into a silkscreen that you can print onto apparel. One high quality cotton tote bag is included for each person, but feel free to bring your own sweatshirt, tee, dress or even dish towel to put your design on as well!

Maximum 5 total items printed per person, one tote-bag included. Bring your own other items, blank t-shirts may be available to purchase from Alchemy as well.
Color Alchemy: Working with Natural Dyes
Create a naturally dyed silk scarf using natural dyes made from flowers, leaves, roots, and insects!
